Your aim while preparing the assignment will be to answer some questions and present consciously the relation between Linguistics and Foriegn Language Teaching. In so doing, you may possibly have a glance at the coursebooks in where you are likely to find the most relevant examples and links between these two. Examining the class activities in foreign language learning classrooms may be another point to be considered throughout your study. The questions to be answered may be as follows :

  1. Why is “Introduction to Linguistics”  studied for “a year” in FLT departments of Educational Faculties ?
  2. How do the findings of linguistics contribute into foreign language teaching ?
  3. What are the reasons of variation of the classroom applications ?
  4. What kind of pragmatic relation is there between Linguistics and FLT ?

For your Coursework Study you are supposed to choose among the headings below. It is better to pick up only one heading in order to make your analyses and interpretation more accurate. This will also help you in leading your own perspective by a simple context.
